Welcome to Annie's Annie's is a garden bed and breakfast. True to it's name, it is virtually surrounded by perennials, herbs, native flowers and framed by trees. There is an inviting gazebo, flagstone terrace and a small lily pond complete with goldfish and frogs. The rustic, Craftsman-style house id cedar and glass, owner-designed in the 1960s and tucked in a quiet circle next to one of Madison's largest waterfront parks, close to the big lake, Mendota. Quiet and ethereal, you would never guess it's close proximity to the pleasures of urban Madison and the University, a very short drive away. Enter . . . and enjoy Madison's most unusual lodgings, where YOU ALONE will be guests for a visit of unsurpassed intimacy and peace. Extraordinary . . . With the eye of an artist, Annie has filled the many rooms with fascinating paintings, sculpture, stained glass and collections reflecting a deep appreciation of the natural world. The light-filled pine library is fairly bursting with books and comfortable furniture. A soaring stone fireplace with mesmerizing Roman horses on it's face, a superb stereo system with hundreds of CDs from which to choose, and lastly, two sleepy Siamese cats complete the scene. A long balcony overlooks the two-story high dining room, large oil paintings and gorgeous chandelier. It ends with the door to the bedroom wing, featuring a master bedroom with a mahogany queen-size bed, a smaller room to be used as a bedroom or a dressing room with a double bed and a full bath. On the lower level there is a double Jacuzzi, surrounded by plants, mirrors, romantic lighting and it's own music system. Also on this level is a cozy surround-sound HD-TV theater (whose speakers can shake the house!). Hundreds of movies and plenty of popcorn await your pleasure, as well as a microwave and tableware for "dinner at the movies" via take out or delivery from one of Madison's great restaurants. The views from all the windows are glorious and seasonally changing. A two=mile jogging/bike path encircles the park to take you down to the lake, woods and marsh to catch glimpses of deer, fox and countless birds. Come . . . make yourself at home and meet Annie, Larry and the catties, Sparkler and Firecracker. . . . Welcome! LODGING RATES
